Internet Safety Tips
I’ve realized recently that my 4-year-old daughter is becoming more and more proficient with computers and the Internet. I couldn’t have possible prevented this, because of how many computers we’ve got at home. And so I started thinking about just how dangerous the Internet could be. Not only for kids, but for adults as well. I’ve been dealing with computer security for over a decade now and today I would like to explain to you why it is so important to remain safe on the web, and what you can do to protect yourself while surfing and using your email in particular.

Consider this. For centuries, the only way books could be distributed was by meticulous effort of scribes. They would copy books by hand, letter by letter, word by word. The works of Homer, Aristotle, the Bible itself, have all come to us because of those efforts. But if scribes existed today we’d call them pirates.
Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx LTR is just around the corner and I’ve decided to participate in beta testing again. It is not recommended to install this first beta on production machines, but it’s too late for me now. Here’s what I had to go through in the past day or so with my little Acer Aspire One and Ubuntu NBR installed on it.
