Szechuan Gardens

Being a Russian disqualifies me as a hot-n-spicy food expert, because ground black pepper is just as spicy as you could get it back home. Up until last weekend, however, I considered myself to be a Tabasco enthusiast with all the hot chili sauce I’ve been consuming lately.

If any of you believe that there is no such thing is TOO spicy, you should really try Szechuan Garden in Sandy. We ordered food from their traditional Szechuan menu and it all came out super-spicy, even though we asked to make it on the mild side. Frog legs, chicken intestines spring rolls and the rest of the dishes were still burning my mouth the next day. We’ll be back though.

Rocky Mountain Pizza

It is a general belief that pizza is not a very healthy food and yet we all went to this pizza place yesterday and here’s my review.

Is there such thing as too much pizza toppings? Well with this place there is! When thoughtlessly chopped up black olives, onions, bell-peppers and sausage pellets are piled up to the point when you can no longer see the crust and the cheese – that is too much toppings!

This place is more of a fast food joint than a restaurant. You need to order your food at the counter and then they deliver it to the table. Pizza itself leaves a lot to be desired and is WAY overpriced. Even with a $10 off coupon I found on http://restaurants.com two large pizzas came up to be over $40.

Staff consists of a couple what seems to be high-school drop-outs, which could explain the poor quality of the meals. They were super friendly and tried to get some extra tips on top of the 18% gratuities included in our 5-persons dinner by striking unnecessary conversations.

This wasn’t a very pleasant experience, I doubts I will ever go back there again.

Mongolian BBQ

We don’t eat out very often, but tonight was one of those nightes we’ve dicided to treat ourselves.

The restaurant was called Panda Mongolian BBQ, but I didn’t spot any pandas in there and the overall experience wasn’t very nice.

That place is kinda ghetto an I doubt I will come back there again. The building is rather old and dirty. It’s dark inside and booth cushions are worn to the point where springs stick right up your ass.

I don’t think the business is going very well because we were the only customers there at 7PM on Thursday night. The only waitress spoke very limited English and the grill cook looked very much asian, so I guess we ate some authentic Mongolian food.

Food choices are pretty limited and seemed to be not fresh at all: vegetables very mushy, sauces milky and meats all crumbled up. The grill appeared to be extremely greasy and dirty, it’s almost like it hasn’t been cleaned in a while, so all the food came out somewhat on the dark side with weird aftertaste.

The only reason why we went there was a gift certificate from restaurants.com and I couldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
